Dear friend,
Just a reminder: COVID-19 is still real and rampant! My youngest and I recently tested positive for the virus, and I’m so grateful we are both up-to-date with vaccines and booster shots. With new, more transmissible variants constantly evolving, I wanted to make sure you remember the three Ws:
- Wear a mask
- Watch your distance in public, crowded spaces
- Wash your hands frequently
Additionally, it’s critical that we all do our part and stay up-to-date with vaccines and boosters. Cook County Health at the Belmont Cragin Health Center accepts walk-ins throughout the week and two Saturdays a month. More information on vaccines, data, and more can be found in English and Spanish on the Illinois Unidos website.
Read on for additional information on resources for you, opportunities to have your voice heard, job opportunities and more.
As always, feel free reach out to my office for assistance by calling 773-278-2020, sending a text message to 773-207-7838, or sending us a note at www.senatorpacionezayas.com/contact-us.
Sincerely,
State Senator Cristina Pacione-Zayas | 20th District

Early childhood education highlight
We know early childhood education provides a backbone for our communities. That’s why I want to highlight various opportunities for ECE providers, families and other stakeholders with information they can use to make sure our children get the best care possible.
This week, I’m highlighting $60 million in capital grants to go toward Illinois ECE providers to construct, expand, and improve facilities throughout the state. Qualifying public school districts and not-for-profit early childhood facilities can apply for the early Childhood Construction Grant through Oct. 10, 2022. Learn more and apply here.
